We're currently in the process of choosing our top photos for our editorial that we shot this past Saturday in Strathcona! For this shoot, we joined forces with String Magazine's Kathy Nguyen and Maria Jose Hernandez Cos to create a really solid editorial. After months of sporadic brainstorming, emailing and meetings, Kathy and I came up with a lot of ideas for the art & styling direction; it's great to finally see it come to fruition. Thanks to our models who braved the Vancouver May-night weather in summer clothes! Special thanks to our friends who let us use their house as our base ground. And a huge thank you to our awesome team of hair & makeup and assistants who helped make the process go so smoothly. You guys rule!
We at greymanner* had an awesome time experimenting with crazy bright lights, a generator, a fog machine, glitter, powdered chalk and shooting at 10pm in the streets of Strathcona. Other than the noise complaint, and our unexpected last minute need to switch locations (due to said noise complaint), we had a pretty seamless operation going on.
What can you look forward to seeing in this editorial? Fog (a lot of it, c/o the fog machine that I experimented with...emphasis on 'experimented', I probably really mean 'learned how to play around with'), glitter/sparkles/shiny things, and a neutral palette.
