iamamiwhoami Viral Campaign

A reader had sent me a link back in December to a YouTube video on a channel entitled 'iamamiwhoami', I watched the video, thought "oh it's just another low-saturated nature piece, reminiscent of Reed + Rader's work with a lot of close cropping, complete with the eery soundbites. A gimmick." Closed it. Thought nothing of it. And since, iamamiwhoami has released 2 more videos, which have now fully caught my attention. I'm not so sure what made me turn around.. maybe I just like the heavy beat at 0:33 of the newest video.. it definitely kept me watching.

Those who have seen it are speculating these videos to be a viral campaign for Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, Goldfrapp, MGMT, The Knife... and the list goes on. However , I feel everyone's leaning towards Christina Aguilera, as they read into every minute detail of the videos and nitpick at every little hint/clue until they just create their own, albeit convincing, connection.

So, who's behind iamamiwhoami? Everyone loves a little bit of mystery, and that's why these viral campaigns are sucking me in... ahhh, the human psyche. But I can't deny the audial & aesthetic beauty within it all.
