When we think about the land down under, Australia, we subconsciously think about surfing, sports, beer, and people who drink lots of beer and still have their six packs. But fashion..not really. But you know what, the fact is, most of the brands that has been featured lately in many world fashion magazines, articles and websites actually originate from Australia, amongst them are Mjolk, Claude Maus, Bassike, Saint Augustine Academy.

But what is interesting is that the Fashion Industry in Australia seems to have their own identity - a counter-culture to the mainstream fashion, the culture that strives without the limelight and yet keeps growing and manages to reach out to the world. The latest one is 'Book Club', a new fashion line by Simon Gibson, 22 and Serge Bodulovic, 24 ( Two talented young people who have achieved so much, they make me hate myself) who both met in college while they were studying commerce and art. I like how their collection looks casual but classy, with a bit of edge.

Maybe you wonder why they named it 'Book Club', well just check out their collection for their upcoming Spring/Summer 2010 - 'Keruoac' Tee, 'Wilde' Purple Short, 'Thompson' Polo, 'Salinger' Short. If you like literature, you know what I'm talking about. If you don't, there's always 'Wikipedia'...
