Aigle Rubber Riding Boots

The rainy season is quickly nearing and so is my need for appropriate footwear that satisfies my fashion and function needs. Living in a city where it rains almost 30 days straight, rubber boots are the most practical but usually lack in the aesthetics department. However, Aigle, which specializes in goods for the love of rubber, has given me a run for my money. Aigle is the lovechild of both Hiram Hutchinson and Charles Goodyear from the 1850's. Goodyear created the flexible rubber that allows these boots to appeal to both fashion and functionality, while Hutchinson bought the patent to create the boots. And so the boots that have caught my eye are their signature riding boot, The Ecuyer. Gone are the days of the department store yellow gumboots, and the sea of Hunter wellies all about town. These babies fooled me the first time I saw them, because I thought they were leather, made by some high-end designer that I can only ever dream about owning a piece of one day. The Ecuyer will only set you back about $200 CAD, a small price to pay to stay dry and look good while I'm at it. To see more styles or purchase, check out Aigle's website here.

More styles after the jump.
